Record Producer - Club and Radio Station DJ
Bringing you the most Wicked Soulful House Tunes !
_Being born in the 70's, most of my latter childhood and teenage years duries the eighties were spent listening to my older brother's Soul and Jazz Funk records. By doing this I inherited the flavours of the soul/jazz funk styles of music and began to experiment with mixing on two old belt driven Pioneer record decks.
Tunes like David Joseph - You Can't Hide Your Love and Gene Chandler - Get Down were to name but a few that swayed my tastes massively towards the Soulful, Disco type genres.
Around the late eighties came the Acid House scene, a period of time which influenced the whole of society let alone just ravers as we were known back then.
At the same time and having already been mixing for the past few years, I was asked to play at many parties and functions which in turn led onto club DJing and record producing. I also played on a variety of popular London radio stations.
My first record, Let The World Know sold thousands of copies on white label and is due for a remix and re-release in 2012.
The dance scene was great back then but with the arrival of soulful house things just got better.Soul music with a dance beat, Wicked !
Now that I've given you a small overview of DJ Westy, just sit back,turn the volume up and enjoy my wicked Soulful House mixes.
